HAMILTON, Ind. — Jon Newmeister ended Bethany's season with a steal and a fast-break layup with 12.8 seconds to play Friday night, as Bruin junior Ben Bontreger's left-handed layup fell harmlessly off the rim as time expired. Bethany finishes the season at 14-8, with six of the losses by six points or less after regulation.
Sectional schedule update
Boys basketball sectional 51 at Hamilton
Canterbury's girls team is playing in the state finals at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. To eliminate the schedule conflict, the boys sectional final game pitting Blackhawk against Canterbury will be played at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
