Week in Review: 11/22/10 to 11/29/10

NOMINATE FOR ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

[Editor's note: This post marks a pair of debuts: the first segment of Week In Review, which we hope will become a major part of the site, and the first post by Ben Hochstetler, who is already a major part of the site.]

This week, the Bruin sports teams had a combined record of 1-4, with the girls basketball team going 1-2 and the boys basketball team going 0-2. The girls squad has lost by an average of 10 points but they have won by an average of 43. However, the boys team has lost by an average of 13 points and has yet to win a game. The next game for the Lady Bruins is on Monday versus Triton at home, beginning with the JV at 6 p.m. The boys' next varsity game is Dec. 4 versus Prairie Heights at home, also following a 6 p.m. JV game; the JV boys also host the Benton Bucks on Thursday following the middle school "A" game.
The middle school "A" team is 4-2 on the season after their three-game win streak came to an end on Nov. 19 against Westview; the Bruins have had double-digit scorers in every game and average 36.7 points a night offensively. The "B" team is 1-5 in a season that has been dominated by single-digit margins. Joel Miller has led the team in scoring in four of six games. The "A" team is in action Thursday night against the Benton Bucks at 5:00, while the "B" team's next game will be against Trinity at home on Saturday at 2:30.
