GOSHEN — On a warm afternoon in the tail end of August, the Bethany Christian Bruins showed their dominance of the NISC, as they cruised past the Lakeland Christian Cougars by a final score of 6-1.

Bethany came out of the gates quick and strong, with five of their six goals coming in the first half. The Bruins totaled 51 shots, 14 of which were on goal. The Bruins also dominated the field, keeping the ball in the Cougars’ defensive half of the field for the vast majority of the game. The Bruins' relentless attacks, combined with skilled passing and strong possessions, kept the Cougars on the defensive.

The Bruins had a bit of a tough time getting the ball on goal: the first eight shots missed the frame.

Leading the Bruins in goals was senior Q Min Kim with two, while Isaac Brennaman, Caleb Morris, Cristian Romero and Lucas Morgan each had one goal apiece.

The only goal for the Cougars came with two seconds left in the second half. It was a relatively easy win for the Bruins, and some of the JV players got plenty of playing time tonight — Kyle Snyder and Ian Bomberger entered the game before halftime. Bethany is now tied with Argos for the conference lead, with the future looking bright for the Bruins.

The Bruins' next varsity game will be on Monday, August 27th against the Concord Minutemen.
