GOSHEN — Girls tennis was the first Bethany team to see match action this spring as they dropped their season opener 5-0 to Marian at Bodiker Field tonight. Brooke Hershberger was the lone Bruin to extend her match to three sets, falling 7-2 in a final-set tiebreaker to Lauren Garatoni. The JV lost 2-0.

Both tennis teams will return to the courts at BCHS on Tuesday as Bethany (0-1) hosts Goshen. Bethany will look to continue the home team's three-year winning streak in the series, whose 2012 edition begins with the varsity at 4:30, followed by the JV.
