NOMINATE FOR MAY 17-23 ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
The Bleeding Bruin Blue Athlete of the Week for May 10-16 is Johnny Kauffman. To see exactly what Kauffman has done to win this honor, type his name into the search box at the top of the page (or click here). If you don't understand the award, feel free to comment (link at the bottom of the post) or e-mail me.
Eligibility: Literally all Bruins in a position to win any athletic letter (varsity, JV or freshman) during the current season are eligible. The only exceptions are recent winners: Kauffma, Luke Slagel, and Mikey Kelly are ineligible for May 17-23.
Next Week: The next nominations (May 17-23) will be due Tuesday, May 26, at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. The list of times by week is linked to on the right side and here. As I said several months ago, the first person to correctly name how I determined the times will get mentioned in a future post. To nominate someone, send an e-mail to senorloco1908@gmail.com and put "AOW nomination: [name of athlete ('athlete' is singular, not plural)]" in the subject line. (You can even include the quotes if you want; a link that should do this is at the top of this post.) The body of the message can be used for whatever you want. NOMINATE FOR ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
GOSHEN — Bleeding Bruin Blue has learned that Bethany infielder Luke Slagel will sign a national letter of intent to continue his academic and baseball careers under coach Josh Keister at Goshen College Wednesday afternoon. Goshen, a member of the NAIA Mid-Central College Conference, finished 11-45 in 2009 including a 2-22 conference record.
Earlier this week, third baseman Jodi Stutzman signed her national letter of intent to continue her softball and academic careers at Hesston (Kan.) College. The Larks, a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association's Division II in softball, finished the 2009 season 4-27 and are coached by Andrew Sharp.
Stutzman and Slagel are both four-year letterwinners in their respective sports in addition to several other letters. They join Hannah Grieser, who signed to play volleyball at Goshen on March 30, in signing to continue their athletic careers at the postsecondary level.

NOMINATE FOR ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
The Bleeding Bruin Blue Athlete of the Week for May 3-9 is Luke Slagel. To see exactly what Slagel has done to win this honor, type his name into the search box at the top of the page (or click here). If you don't understand the award, feel free to comment (link at the bottom of the post) or e-mail me.
Eligibility: Literally all Bruins in a position to win any athletic letter (varsity, JV or freshman) during the current season are eligible. The only exceptions are recent winners: Slagel, Mikey Kelly, and Ryan Snyder are ineligible for May 10-16.
Next Week: Next week's nominations will be due Sunday, May 17, at 7:00 p.m. Bleeding Bruin Blue Athlete of the Week, April 26-May 2

NOMINATE FOR ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
The previous week has not been a particularly great one in the world of Bruin athletics. The girls tennis team lost, the softball team and track teams didn't play, and the golf team's results are unavailable; past performance would seem to indicate they will not be PGA-worthy results. That would leave baseball, and only one player appeared in both game summaries.
The Bleeding Bruin Blue Athlete of the Week for April 26-May 2 is Mikey Kelly. To see exactly what Kelly has done to win this honor, type his name into the search box at the top of the page (or click here). If you don't understand the award, feel free to comment (link at the bottom of the post) or e-mail me.
Eligibility: Literally all Bruins in a position to win any athletic letter (varsity, JV or freshman) during the current season are eligible. The only exceptions are recent winners: Kelly, Ryan Snyder, and Ali Hochstetler are ineligible for May 3-9.
Next Week: Next week's nominations will be due Sunday, May 10, at 7:00 p.m. The three simple things that will disqualify a message are:

- A subject line that reads "AOW nomination: [name of athlete ('athlete' is singular, not plural)]" without actually naming an athlete.
- Anyone nominating multiple people will have only the last nomination counted.
- SeƱor Loco reserves the right to ignore e-mails with unnecessarily vulgar sections.
